Notysing is the brainchild of music educators and scholars as part of an ongoing research collaboration involving The Royal College of Music in Stockholm and Doremir Music Research. This joint effort explores utilizing Doremir’s innovative music interpretation technology to advance musical literacy education.

Although primarily piloted in secondary education settings, individuals of any age or musical background who are literate can benefit from Notysing. Music students, choir members, and instrumentalists seeking to refine their musical proficiency can all leverage this innovative platform.

PEDAGOGICAL FRAMEWORK

The pedagogical structure co-designed with The Royal College of Music in Stockholm commences with note names ("C D E") before transitioning to scale degree numbers ("1 2 3"). This deliberate sequence was tailored to simplify grasping scales without introducing additional complex terminology, emphasizing direct engagement with singing. The curriculum then progresses to cover key signatures and rhythm, empowering users to interpret and perform songs directly from sheet music.

Subsequent lessons will introduce solfège ("Do Re Mi"), yet given the innate intuitiveness of scale degree numbers, the app can run concurrently with solfège-oriented instruction.
